Animation

We had two deliverables for this project: a film with graphics and a few out-of-home pieces. Both had to follow the same animation style. The brief was for the text to have that shadow extrusion look, and the rest was up to me to create. I animated the spinning coins using the illustrations from the studio and tried to create a transition for each section, avoiding harsh cuts.

Process

With access to the artwork and illustrations, I started the initial organization phase. Most of the illustrations were created using a combination of 3D and 2D techniques. I imported the illustration files into Blender and exported them as GLB files to animate the spinning coins. For the text shadows, I had to recreate them in After Effects, as the original shadow setup wasn’t compatible across software. Using a four-effect shadow system, I gained full control over the text animations. From there, I focused on adding detail and movement to the beautiful illustrations that had been created.
